KNOWING JESUS...
Life begins with Jesus. The
Bible tells us that Jesus came to give us an abundant life. We are to live
as healthy, whole, prosperous individuals. This all begins by asking Jesus
to live inside us, allowing Him to lead and guide us every day in all that we
say and do. Most people who have heard the Gospel know that salvation (asking
Jesus to be their Lord), means that they will go to Heaven when they die. But,
salvation is much more. There is an inheritance which comes with
salvation. When we ask Jesus to be our Lord, we become part of a Royal
Family, the Family of God. If you are ready to make this step into the
Royal Family, below is a prayer to pray, asking Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. (If
you prefer, you may use your own words. This is only a guideline for those
unsure of how to ask Jesus into their heart.)
Dear Heavenly Father...
I come to You in the
name of Jesus. I know that I have sinned and fallen short of Your glory. I
know that You love me and gave Your Son, Jesus, to be crucified for my sin.
The Bible says
in Romans 10:9, "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved." I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son
of God. I believe He died on a cross for my sin, was buried and
rose again. I now commit myself to Jesus, making Him the Lord of
my life.
Thank You, Father,
that I am born again (saved) and I am now Your son/daughter. My
eternity will be spent with You in Heaven.
